Whimsical Gardening Ideas

If you're planning a whimsical garden, you need to know how to incorporate fun items into your outdoor space. For planters, you can use vintage garden booths or colorful boots. You can place small garden containers inside of these and hang them on the garden fence to add a whimsical touch. For a whimsical and charming garden, you could also consider birdcages. Place small plants in the cages and put them on a wooden seat. You can also create a garden stool from concrete slabs or rocks. Then you can secure the pieces together using mortar and add creeping vegetation to the side.

A whimsical garden is a great addition to any garden. Adding a water feature is a great way to add whimsy to your garden. A water feature such as a waterfall or trickling stream will create a relaxing atmosphere. For an extra touch of magic, place a fountain or trickling stream near a seating area. You can also decorate your yard with garden art.

Use old watering cans to add some humor to your garden. Use different-sized crystals to hang on the nozzle to make it look like water is leaving the container. You can hang these containers in strategic locations in your garden. You can also use glass containers as a focal point. They create a glowing ball in sunlight and are great additions to whimsical gardens.

A quirky and colorful path is another way to bring a whimsical touch to your garden. Consider turning a cracked or unused pot into a colorful pathway. Then, plant your favorite flowers along the pathway. The possibilities for what you can do are endless. Don't forget about the lightening rods! They can make any landscape seem more interesting. If you're planning a garden in a small space, make it look like a zen garden. Be sure to include some unique features and mulch. A fun accent can be used as an additional rim to your garden.

Layering and patina can be incorporated into whimsical landscaping designs. Practical items can be placed in difficult locations. This will enhance your creativity and beauty. Pebble mosaics can make beautiful, unique walkways. You can also incorporate a vignette and an enchanting plant to grab people's attention. Incorporate fun and whimsical elements into your outdoor space without breaking the bank. Be creative and have fun with your garden!

Choose your colors carefully to create a garden with a fun theme. You should consider the overall theme and color scheme. It will be easier to incorporate fanciful accents if you're not sure which colors would suit your outdoor space. To help you get inspired, a magazine or gardening website can provide some ideas. How To

Use organic fertilizers in your garden

Organic fertilizers are made of natural substances like manure, compost and fish emulsion. The term "organic" means that they are produced using non-synthetic material. Synthetic fertilizers are chemicals that are used in industrial processes. They are widely used in agriculture because they provide nutrients to plants quickly and efficiently without requiring laborious preparation methods. However, synthetic fertilizers present risks to both the environment- and human health. Synthetic fertilizers require large amounts of energy as well as water to be produced. Synthetic fertilizers also pollute surface and groundwater through runoff. This pollution is harmful to wildlife and humans.

There are many organic fertilizers available:

* Manure is produced when livestock eat nitrogen-rich foods (a plant nutrient). It's made of bacteria and enzymes which break down the waste to simple compounds that can be taken by plants.

* Compost is a mixture from vegetable scraps, grass clippings and decaying leaves. It is rich in carbon, nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, magnesium and sulfur. It is porous so it retains moisture well and releases nutrients slowly.

* Fish Emulsion: A liquid product derived primarily from fish oil. It works similarly to soap in that it dissolves oils and fats. It contains trace elements and phosphorous as well as nitrogen and nitrogen.

* Seaweed extract - A concentrated solution of minerals from kelp and red algae. It's a great source of vitamins A and C as well as iodine and iron.

* Guano is the excrement of seabirds and bats. It is rich in nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium as well as sodium, magnesium, sulfate and chloride.

* Blood Meal - the remains of slaughtered animals. It is high in protein, making it suitable for feeding poultry and other livestock. It also contains trace minerals, phosphorus and potassium.

Make organic fertilizer by combining equal parts manure, fish emulsion, and compost. Mix well. If you don’t possess all three ingredients you can substitute one for the other. If you only have the fish-emulsion you can substitute one with another.

To apply the fertilizer, spread it evenly over the soil using a shovel or tiller. The fertilizer should be about 1/4 cup per square foot. To see new growth, you will need to apply more fertilizer every 2 weeks.
